What
is MOPS?
MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every
mom - urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home
and career moms, teen, single, and married moms - moms
with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire
to be the very best moms they can be!
Brandon MOPS is a charter group of
MOPS
International. Our group meets to embrace and connect
moms in every season. Brandon MOPS meetings this year
are for both mothers of preschoolers
(Infants-Kindergarten) as well as mothers with school
age kids (1st-8th grade). MOPS meetings offer a community
of retreat where moms can connect with other moms in
an accepting, non-denominational environment to encourage
motherhood and spiritual growth. Our evening meetings
include dinner, social interaction, topical discussions,
occasional guest speakers, crafts and creative activities.
Moms also have the opportunity to meet for other activities
through scheduled monthly play-dates and Mom’s
Night events. Childcare is offered during our MOPS meetings
in a program called MOPPETS. Children are cared for
and engaged in age appropriate activities, games and
crafts in their own class where they are also served
dinner.
The schedule
for Brandon MOPS and MOMSnext runs during the school
year, September through May. Meetings are held on the
first and third Thursday of each month from 6:15pm to
8:00pm at Brandon
SDA Church, 1221 Victoria St., Brandon, FL 33510
(next door to Brandon High School). Childcare is available
but reservations must be made 24 hours in advance.
If you would like to join or visit our group, please

MOPS
Theme for 2009-10:
When
you become a mom, all your relationships change. It’s
like you have landed on a different planet—Planet
Mom—and the relationships on Planet Mom
don’t look like the ones on your previous planet.
Your relationship with yourself is different—you
are a mom! Your relationship with your husband, girlfriends,
extended family, community and God have all changed.
Many of these changes are positive, some are not.
Even positive change requires adjustments on your
part.
The MOPS Experience equips women for the joys and
challenges of their lives as moms. One key factor
in the MOPS Experience is the relationships built
within a group. Time and time again, MOPS moms share
that the friends they make in MOPS are significant
for this season of their life and on into their future.
God created us for relationship! It’s one of
the defining parts of being human.
During the 2009-10 MOPS year, we will explore how
to thrive in relationships Together on Planet
Mom.
